Boys will be boys (even when riding purple bikes)

Matthew Ivory Rock (almost 3 and 1/2) with one of Luke's many Nerf weapons, complete with protective goggles.  Matthew likes his bikes, both his purple one without peddles and his new Spiderman bike which matches his shoes.  He also likes the iPad, superheroes, Killy, Diego, FIreman Sam, wrestling and chocolate milk.  His best friends rotate, but Krissy, Tate, Mom and Dad are usuals on his list.

Happy Mother's Day!

The tradition lives on!
This is the 5th year that I have awoken to cut out letters hung with dental floss on Mother's Day morning.  Jim's gifts of creativity are always my favorite.  This year the letters were extra huge AND neon.  I snapped a pic the day after when they were starting to fall down a bit.  Jim and the kids showed their thankfulness by helping me clean and cook all day.  We fed the Linthorsts, the Joe Ivorys, Rosie & Bruce and my parents.  Jim roasted 3 full chickens that were wonderful and moist.  I made oatmeal dinner rolls, the Glen Ellyn salad, Texas Caviar and some fruits and veggies.

Octopus's Garden

Viewer discretion advised.

Margo's preschool class at Discovery put on the most impressive school program that, perhaps, we have ever seen; and that's saying a lot because we've been to preschool about a thousand times.  This rendition does the Beatles proud.  Look out for the sharks!

This patriotic ditty doesn't need fancy special effects.  Some people say this is the clip that Seal Team Six watched aboard the stealth-modified blackhawk en route to Abottabad.

Six and Superb!

Bonnie Kate Rock
Age 6
We often refer to Bonnie as our easiest kid (maybe it is the age--I love 5/6).  She loves life and is pretty easy to please.  This year she has attended 2 kindergartens; she goes to Cottonwood Elementary in the morning, eats lunch with me and then attends Discovery Kindergarten in the afternoon.  She is social, happy and a smarty pants.  She can't say her "r"s or "l"s and is aware of it.  Jim is Bonnie's soccer coach and Bonnie has been playing the piano for 9 months.  This year Bonnie had a combined birthday party with her friend, Bridget Voortmeyer.  Lily the clown came to paint faces and the girls had lunch served in baskets with a balloon tied to each one.

David Archuleta, NOT

Krissy, Haley, Phoebs and I attempted to leave the little ones behind for a night and go to the Christmas Concert @ The Conference Center, staring David Archuleta. Unfortunately, after many attempts, we were unable to get in to the Conference Center and we ended up watching
a bit of it in The Joseph Smith Building. We did run in to Buddy the Elf! We did have many great laughs! We are so grateful for Krissy & Haley and ALL they add to our lives.

First Day of School!

Phoebe is excited for 5th Grade.
She has the best teacher at Cottonwood--Mrs. Ross.

Margo and Bonnie go to Discovery @ the same time on M, W, F.
Bonnie goes T, Th in addition.

Bud & Margo are pals when their sisters are at school.

Park Silly

Park Silly Market Summer '10
We spent 5 of our Sundays this summer in Park City at the Park Silly Market selling cookbooks.  We learned quickly that the ladies preferred Jim's sales pitch.  The girls loved running up and down Main Street striking deals with whomever they could.
